Please join us for the Maxinkuckee Yacht Club Sunfish Regatta
When: July 22nd 10 am
Who: Anyone who has or can borrow a Sunfish, Laser
or Open BIC. Adults, Kids, Beginner and Experienced
Sailors welcome!
Where: Meet in the middle of the lake and gather
around the MYC pontoon at 10 am.
Prizes and Popcorn: Following the event sailors can gather at
the Levett’s (The Ice House, 1110 East Shore Drive). Buoys and
pier space will be available to tie up your boat.
The details: We’ll sail counterclockwise around a triangular
course. A jet ski carrying a flag will demonstrate the course
before we start.
There will be a horn at 5 minutes, 4 minutes, and 1 minute before
the start for the Lasers and Sunfish. The final horn will be the
start. The committee boat will also announce the times. A
second start sequence and race start will be for Open Bics
immediately following the Sunfish. The number of laps will be
determined on the day of the event and will be posted on the
board at the back of the committee boat.
Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather, a
decision will be made by 9 am whether to cancel the event or
sail. We will post it on the Maxinkuckee Yacht Club Facebook
page.
