Rules Pertaining to the Junior Fleet
1. The Junior Fleet Director will have the right to establish Junior Fleet racing rules.
2. ILYA sailing rules that pertain to right-of-way will prevail in all Junior Fleet races.
3. Two excuses will be allowed. To be excused, you must notify any member of the Junior Fleet committee by 9:00 A.M. Saturday morning.
4. In the interest of safety, all skippers and crews in the Junior Fleet program MUST wear approved life jackets during all races. Failure to comply with this rule will mean an immediate disqualification.
5. Any child ages 7 - 16, prior to May 1st of the membership year, is eligible to participate in the Junior Fleet program. However, only dues paying members who have participated in at least three (3) races will be eligible for awards and/or trophies.
6. Points won for races will be awarded to the skipper and not to the boat. Therefore, it is possible for a skipper to sail any boat of the same class each week.
7. It is not compulsory that the owner of the boat be a member of the Maxinkuckee Yacht Club.
8. All Junior Members should assemble on the lawn in front of the lake at 2805 East Shore Drive. ***Please do not drive your cars down to the lake front. Park them on high ground.***
They should be ready to go promptly at 9:00 A.M. each Saturday for instructions. **See Calendar for the schedule.
9. All Junior Fleet members in MYC are entitled to participate in Junior Fleet races, according to Junior Fleet rules, without additional fees.
